line the inside of the pen with shade cloth or the plastic hex opening garden fencing (found green colored at HomeDepot). This will protect their bills from the wire.

hopefully it will help, I use it on breeding pen fence lines to help reduce line of sight to other yards.

Pete on the black background...on my photo editor it has an option called coloring book which allows you to color things on your pics so I simply color the background black. I have been accused of "touching up" my photos by the curmudgeons but I simply black out some backgrounds or use a soft effects feature which softens the pic. I can hardly add more or longer feathers to my birds.

I just like to play around with the pics. It's just fun and hardly misrepresenting my birds.
I like to use soft effects on my face photos as it removes wrinkles!

one more post. DH is doing such a nice job on the pens and houses, almost everything is recycled materials, like fence panels purchased from neighbor and tin that was roofing for old dog kennels.

Your husband is doing a lovely job on you houses for the birds..... The heart windows are really cute.

On our pen kennels we put hardware cloth all around the bottom of the pen we still have more to do on other pens. But this helps to keep the geese to keep their beaks in and the predotors fingers, hands and mouths off our birds as well.

Thanks for the nice comments about the houses! I think they are adorable. and I feel like my birds are all safe at night. Winnie even goes in this house sometimes on his own.
