No, it's actually a cantelope with green flesh instead of orange. The skin is netted instead of smooth.
OK, mine on the cantaloupe.

Offer: see Plant swap section of my swap page (if you want ribbon I just got another 180+ yards that isn't posted yet)

OR

2-5 Rose of Sharon Seedlings with roots (colors unknown, however many fit in the tube or envelope)

OR

Peony starts (no clue on color, someone tell me how to get starts, assuming I just dig up a chunk)

or
some of this ground cover, whatever it is

Picture number 3 actually looks like pokeweed shoots to me. It still something you want to remove. It causes liver failure when ingested and it produces some very ingestible looking berries in the fall. I would definitely get rid of it with chickens around. Apparently you can eat the really young sprouts, but its something you would only want to do if it were a choice between that and starvation.

P.S. Never, never, never kill the ants on your peonies. You won't get blooms. The ants help the peonies open.

PPS. Watch out when you post those peonies baby, I'm gonna be in there like a ninja.

No, poke berry weed gets really tall. This is only a few inches & actually stayed green all winter.

Yeah, I think it dies back in the fall and then sends out a sprout for the winter. Then that sprout starts to grow in the spring or summer. I'm probably wrong, but I still think you should burn her anyway!

This is almost a vine type thing. Poke berry bushes leave big stalks & there are none anywhere near this. I'll get a better pic of a bigger patch of it tomorrow.

I still need zucchini (any color), yellow squash, potatoes (white, yellow or red), onions (any color), garlic (any variety), sweet corn (any color), cherry tomatoes & roma tomatoes for my garden. Anyone want to side swap for them

I'll even do eggs if you have several of the items that can be sent together.

I believe you, I am not too familiar with burdock, even though I know I've had it all over my clothes before.
This has to be some kind of ground cover variant just from the way it's growing all over this particular section of the bank. Someone planted it there & let it spread. The whole hill side used to be a flower garden years ago. There's yucca & lamb's ear mixed in.

Plant #2 could be poke weed (you originally said #3). There were some pokeberry bush remains near where this is growing. Either way, poke weed or burdock, it's headed to the burn pile. I don't need my kids "painting" with pokeberry ink OR dragging more burrs in the house.
