2013 SEED/PLANT/GARDENING SWAP

The only seeds I can think of that are on my "want list" is Wisteria, but I might be interested in any seed (tame or wild) that can not be easily found in Canada. I would also be interested in trading some of my seeds for fancy looking feathers (Peacock, Guinea fowl, ect) I enjoy fly tying so feathers and even some types of animal hair is something I am always looking for. I have been a long time member of BYC but I spend alot more time reading than I do posting so I have not hit 200 posts yet, but as long as I can see your not a new member I have no problem sending the seeds first, then you can send your trade once you receive them.

This will be my first year growing it, but yes it is a yard-long red bean. Here is the description from Sand Hill: 75 days. Pole type. Vigorous vines, heavy producer of purple/red, small seeded, yardlong beans.

I grew them from SSE last year and I think they're going to be the main bean I grow this year. They are super prolific, bugs don't really like them too much, they yield as many beans as any other pole bean, but the beans are three times as long as a regular pole bean so, like 10 beans were enough to feed my family of 4 as a dinner side. Love them! On top of all that, they're red, so they're easy to find on the vine.

So, the way this works is that if you see something that somebody is offering that you would like to have, you post "mine" (which you can do because you have been a member for more than two months). Then you offer just below that, your selection of seeds or plants and somebody else will "mine" or claim your seeds and so on and so forth like a chain. I will go check my wisteria for seeds, but if not, I will have rooted starts this spring. Its a blue wisteria.

I think the actual swap is limited to those who have been here 3 months or have at least 200 posts, however, you can always PM someone who has something you want & see if they want anything you have to offer. We call that a "side swap" because it's outside the chain itself. You can also get in faster by posting. Just start chatting away on the threads & you will be in in no time.

Apparently I have about a million "Rose of Sharon" bushes on my property. Can send as many cuttings as will fit in a padded envelope as soon as they start to bud. Not sure if there are multiple colors or not so will send from several bushes from several areas of the yard in case they are different. There are also still seeds in the pods on these so I can do seeds instead if you prefer seeds.
