When you breed cameo x cameo you will only get cameo chicks, but when you breed cameo(male) x india blue(hen) you will get cameo hens and india blue males split cameo. Are cameo genetic mutations of IB's? When you breed them do you still have a chance of getting a certain number of IB's? I know nothing about peafowl genetics so I maybe way off base here.
It is quite possible that it is a purple, it is not cameo. Where did the parent stock of opal bs sp come from? The opal bs sp male could be split to purple, and could have fathered a chick of this colour if the mother was not blackshoulder.
The opal bs sp male came from leggs peafowl farm, he is penned with two opal bs sp hens that came from the same farm.It is quite possible that it is a purple, it is not cameo. What puzzles me more, that this chick egg looks the same like the other eggs i got from this pen(i got 4 this was the only one fertile).
