2014 breeding season begins, post your results

Last year i had one light colored chick hatch out of 48 chicks thought sure it might be a bronze or mabe even purple but it feathered out IB just like the rest .

Its really looks like this one, not sure how i got an india blue. I will still keep wishing to be any other color instead of india blue LOL!

Peachicks 3, 4 and 5. Hatched in 27 days on 5-29. For those that weigh eggs, these eggs lost 16-18% in in 26 days.

Kathy, do you store all your chicks in Tupperware? Great idea, can't believe I never thought of that!

That one's still a little wobbly and couldn't stand very well on the counter, lol. I've been known to do some strange thing with tupperware - hehehe.

Not bashing legg's, but it's possible one of the parents is not opal BS sp. Judging by the looks of the chick, it's likely not out of that pen, as they'd be sp, white or dark pied white eyed (likely have white flights if it was this one).

The opal bs sp male came from leggs peafowl farm, he is penned with two opal bs sp hens that came from the same farm.

What puzzles me more, that this chick egg looks the same like the other eggs i got from this pen(i got 4 this was the only one fertile).

These are the parents, i'm sure the hens are bs, i can't be sure about the male since all his wing feathers are white, but i remember last season when i hatched some opal chicks they more lighter than this. Next pen there is 4 birds: cameo bs pied pair and spalding cameo pair, thats why i said i thought it would be cameo.
