2014 breeding season begins, post your results

Margaret8 w/e = white eye. There is no such thing as B/S white hens. Your white hens with the black flecking across their backs are black shoulder hens, probably india blues. BS is a pattern. It is close to a "marking",it's just a diffrent pattern instead of barred wing or pied
...and just to clarify Randy's statement, a white bird can be barred wing or black shoulder. You just don't see either pattern.

No, they all share a big plastic olive barrel that is cut in half and filled with hay/straw that is sitting on top of a built-in brooder that is in their coop. Sometimes they are all 3 stuffed in that barrel, lol. There are several recycling bins in there on the floor stuffed with the same hay and straw that the Guineas all lay in, but the Peahens like that round barrel for whatever reason, maybe because it's up higher (I like them using it too tho, since it's gentler on their tail feathers than the square bins are). I think even if I had 3 half barrels in there for the PeaHens they'd still all use the same one tho, lol.

What Augeredin said is 100%true..What I meant was that only 25 % of the chicks (both sexes together )produced will look like the one in the picture posted. Also, darkpied w/e,w/e x darkpied w/e, w/e = all the chicks will be darkpied w/e. w/e.

Well darn, i know some of my hens are communal layers also but thought if they layed separate you could use a trail cam and colored leg bands. to see who is laying where .

Ya'll say a prayer for me i got to get a wisdom tooth pulled in an hour, ain't liken the thought of that but got to be done

If you're getting it pulled (and not CUT out) you'll walk out of there feeling better than you walked in. I had one pulled years ago and as soon as it was out the pain was gone and I felt much better. Hopefully it will be the same for you.

When i was 19 i had a bad tooth back there sence the wisdom teeth were coming in they pulled the bad one rather than fix it and left the wisdom tooth, that tooth broke off last year while DH was in the hospital and i put off having it pulled and i ended up with an infection starting the day before good friday and no one around to take care of it, i ain't hurt that bad sence child birth..

About 19 years ago I had a very bad accident that resulted in my rt. foot almost being ripped off. I've come to the conclusion that pain is relative and after that experience, the birth of my son 9 years ago was a walk in the park. Get it taken care of and feel better, no sense dwelling on it.......only makes it hurt worse.

That's exactly how mine was, I don't think it even took 2 mins. He pried on it twice and out it popped. Glad it's over and your sense of humor is still intact!
