2014 New York Chickenstock

I know I can bring boxes to help people out if needed. One box is 12in wide 20in long and 16in high. Another box will be about same size except think it's 16in wide. I can pretty much bring as many as needed or wanted if you just want some for around your house. Free from my work.

I'm also willing to stop by aarrons to pick up some silkies or hatching eggs if you have an order with him at all. https://www.facebook.com/aarronsbantam?ref=br_tf
Or if you need something picked up between my side of state and rome. Or brought back to this side if you cant make the picnic.

Also will bring juice. I work at a juice factory so get to bring a bottle home a night so will try to get different kinds.

Will wait to see what else is needed to figure out what I may have to bring.

I'm in! I should be carpooling down with Metella. Maybe we can get Bakin to join us too. I'll bring some hatching eggs for the auction and also to sell. I should have, by May, at least Mille Fleur cochin eggs, BBS marans eggs, and OE eggs. Possibly buff barred cochin eggs too. And maybe some chicks and juveniles if the hatching bug bites (and it probably will).

I'll bring the homemade dill pickle slices and zucchini relish for condiments. And something else, either main or side, whichever is needed.
For auction, maybe a jar of peach or apple pie filling.
Can't wait! I'm sure I'll be bringing home some chicks. :D

Is anyone bringing deviled eggs?

or egg salad sandwiches?

Please, as we get closer, lmk what's left and I'll bring it. Candy, chips, soda's, etc. I'm happy to prepare deviled eggs or other tasty treats. Will be so awesome to meet everyone!

We may be interested in hatching Silkie or Sizzle eggs if anyone has them but we need to get a little closer to May before we commit to hatching more! We wouldn't want to stress out our current 3 birds!
And it would be lovely to buy a plumb tree or even a couple if you have them. Yes on the plumb trees. What kind of plumbs?

They are a nice wild plum -you can prune them open or let them grow into a giant bushy type thing - they are very hardy and often grow along roadsides - so you don't have to be delicate about where you plant them. They should fruit out in 3-4 years - but they have blossomed for me in year 2 when I have transplanted them around my place. Very nice rough red and grey bark. Fruit does have a big pit - but is very tasty and very sweet plum. I call them wild plum ... but I don't know :) I had a grandmother of a tree on the place when I bought it - and I use young ones that make it through their first winter and self-start .... that way I think they are the most hardy of all. :)

Here is a pic of a small grove I planted them all to circle a larch tree - they are showing off their flowers .... and they have a sweet smell too.

I can't make a deviled egg to save my life & love it - so laugh at the irony - but I'll eat up your deviled eggs and your egg salade sandwiches if you bring them! ha ha

I am in :) and Metella I want one or 2 plums as well to get my giant one pollinated, I can let you know what I can bring when it gets closer but probably some kind of cake and a side dish of some sort, and for the auction I could do some homemade wine

If horse people are interested - I have a brand new saddle and bridle and horse blanket for sale at very decent pricing. I can bring them so you can see with no pressure / obligation to buy. Western style.

I will have wild plum seedings (1 to 2 feet high) for sale for $5 each if anyone is interested - I won't bring them unless others have expressed an interest. (sweet, little dark plums with fragrant while blossoms).;

What size saddle? I love horse stuff! Also I am interested in several plum seedlings!

I will bring one, possibly two of my hand made dream catchers for the auction. Similar, not exact to these as all mine are made to order.

Also a few pairs of horse hair earrings, I have several designs that I enjoy making regularly.

As for food, I will work my food creativity around those of us with allergies. Head count on my Gluten Sensitive? Any other allergies out there that need consideration? I like a cooking challenge.

Also, I should have starters of a beautiful running rosebush ready and up for grabs by then, this year was very good for it and I have a lot of clipping to do on her.

Oh Metella, they are lovely trees. I'll definitely take a few, if you have them to plant in our fruit tree orchard on the farm. If you have extras, I have a couple of family members who may like a tree for their yards too. I'll bring the deviled eggs!

I'm getting so excited for this picnic! I really hope I can make it. If I come I should be able to bring Orpington hatching eggs, silkie hatching eggs (if my silkies EVER start laying!), and any chicks or started birds that I'll be hatching soon and in the upcoming months. Does anyone have any interest in Orpington chicks that are from my Lavender and Blue hens and Splash roo? I've only gotten blue so far. If not I'll probably take a break from hatching from that trio so I can focus more on my bantams.

I can also bring some angora wool (Breella I had a baggie full for you that day I picked up the feed and totally forgot to give it to you!

). As far as food goes, I don't cook and my baking is pretty lousy. I'd probably have DH supply me with something from the restaurant - either BBQ or Dessert - whichever is needed more at that point in time.
