I had seen how large the AOCCL class was when someone posted about it. Paige had a big win last year at Stockton with an junior Champ AOCCL win (240 birds). Her name is in the ABA yearbook. She loves looking at that book and seeing her name. Probably not a big deal to someone that has their name in it 345,678,860 times! Lol

I didn't judge at Springfield. I went back as a proxy for Dave Anderson Past President of the APA and to present the Standard Revision Committee report. 127 of the AOCCL's are the Ko Shamo's and they wont count in the real totals, but it is still a good class. Paige always does well, but her autograph is still not worth $5 bucks. lol

I about died when she said she wanted $5 for an autograph! I'm not suprised because she was buying pencils for .25 an selling them for .50 when she was in Kindergarten!
 
Just an FYI. I got two old English bantams, a frizzle and a silkie. All but the silkie have scaly legs. Just a reminder to check and treat your birds before introducing into your flock. Unfortunately the bantams are for 4h and probably will be disqualified. Just thought I'd give some advice. It was so crazy at the Stockton show, i just got what i could and left. Didnt bother checking their feet.
 
If the scales are from mites, just treat for mites (and lice) and they should be fine in a few days..... Vaseline scrubbed into/under the scales on the legs, use a lot, will smother the mites and soften/loosen the scales so they will fall off soon and the new scales will be pretty and nice... meanwhile treat the birds weekly with a powder like Sevin or poultry dust to get rid of any critters on the bodies. I would treat the silkie too. At least with the powders. I would keep them penned away from your flock until done with treatment and quarantine.

I started treating them right away. They all got the treatment bc they all rode together. Luckily i didn't throw them in with my girls so they are in my garage until they are better. Thanks so much for the info. I used vasaline and poultry dust. They are beautiful so I'm going to keep them no matter what, just frustrated with the fact that most of them had mites. They are on the mend though!
