2015 breeding season

Yes, you can grab an egg when she is taking a break and candle it with a strong flashlight. I have done this many times with no problems at all. If a hen is really dedicated to sitting, she will stay on the eggs whether they hatch or not, and it is not good to allow her to sit and wait on eggs that are not going to hatch.

Ok thank you very much for ur info ;) and yes it's not good at all and I didn't use anything to see the eggs I just lift them with my hand one by one and they are heavy just one I felt it not very heavy but I'm pretty sure they are all 9 good I hope ;)

So is anyone's peacock already losing their train!?
My low % spalding white Frosty is losing his!

I am happy because Frosty became the alpha peacock this year and I don't like him as the alpha. I am hoping that the loss of his train will make him more mellow. So far I think he is less aggressive to the two other peacocks (Alto & Peep). I thought he would stop kicking Peep every time he displays but I saw him do that a few days ago so hopefully he will stop that.

The first day I found a few white train feathers I wasn't sure if he was just losing a few and it would be a while before he lost them all, but then the next days after that I have been finding at least a dozen train feathers each day from him.

I wasn't sure if the spaldings or the green peafowl are already losing their trains right now as I know they tend to shed theirs first. Frosty is always quick to molt his.

Hopefully this will be good news to Alto and Peep. The other day my friend was over seeing my peafowl for the first time and Alto started mating with Snow White right in front of us so that was a weird intro to my peafowl especially considering how innocent this friend is.

My green male still has his train, last year he start losing it at the last week of June.

I have only one spalding male losing his train, he lost many feathers, even its still early in the breeding season here.
