2015 breeding season

I use Brinsea cabinet incubators and just got the first chick of the year

I was thinking of getting a hovabator styrofoam.
I have one and it is pretty darn good bator for the money if you do not hatch 100's of eggs every year, i use my GOF cabinet bators and hatcher exclusively but have these styro hovabators for back up just in case .

Get the one with a fan and turner you will be ready to plug and go

i think i paid like 149 back in 2009 not sure what they run now but they are great for any one trying to learn before they take the big plunge also IMO

Ok. Thanks, I just want to hatch the first clutch of eggs this year, hopefully she lay on her 2nd clutch. Then next year my chickens should be able to hatch the peas for me.

Saw my hen in distress, so I checked her and felt a soft shelled egg. She wasn't pacing or looking like she was trying to lay it, she was just standing there with her eyes closed. Brought her in and gave 400mg calcium gluconate and 60 ml Gatorade orally then placed her in from of the fire. Calcium and fluids are amazing, 20 minutes later she passed the egg.
