2015 breeding season

It is the end of day 29 and it is still moving, I can see quite well with my candler. Do you all think I should pick a hole in it?

I would wait i had one i tossed at day 30 cause i thought sure it was dead, i was wrong it died when i tossed it i felt horrible.

Was this egg in the incubator or under a hen?

If you pick a hole and it's not ready it still stands a good chance of making it, it might not be able to pip membrane or malpositioned.

It's never easy is it?

These eggs were set under two different broodies at the same time. One broody set hatched a day earlier than the other, the egg in question is from the later set.

It might be malpositioned, but it is not a wrong ender. Last year I picked a hole in one and kept tape on it for a few days waiting for it to hatch, it never pipped internally.

Yes but you could have popped the membrane and possibly saved it, it smothered.

Sometimes u have to do that, for some reason membrane shrink wraps them.

They were all out yesterday (Thursday) morning.

I did, but how so you know to open the membrane, when is it safe to do so? I just candled again, it is quite active, or breathing hard, I don't know which, but it is not internally pipped.
