I wonder if this damp rid stuff is odor free and would help those in really damp areas, not sure what sizes they come in or whats inside them either. Anyone ever use this stuff in closets or anything?

I have to put those in all the closets, the dogs' room & my art room corners so that the canvas' & Bristol stays dry in the damp seasons. Really works. I get them at the Dollar Tree by the 20's. They work awesomely. There's activated charcoal in them & they are odorless. I have used them to absorb odor in the kitchen trash can & in the bathroom. That's funny you posted these, I was just talking to the roommate wondering out loud if they would take down moisture in a big incubator that could fit one if the eggs were jacking up the humidity.
I got a cemani egg today! Woo! So someone is done molting. Too late for Halloween but I'll take it.
Ooh! I think I want one the more I look them up! They'd be even cooler in bantam size! Tiny mini black chicken of darkness!

That's so metal. :D

About shipping eggs on Saturday...I wouldn't worry. The Postmaster here told me that mail doesn't stop moving on Sundays. It just isn't delivered on Sunday. So, Friday is a bad day to ship, then they might sit somewhere on Sunday waiting for the Monday delivery truck. but if shipped on Saturday they should arrive in the normal 2-3 day time frame as usual.
We often ship on Saturday for a Monday delivery. I don't think it's optimal only because Monday is such a busy day for the Post office. Prefer to ship Monday-Wednesday.

Think this was for me since my eggs should ship Saturday... Regardless, thanks. :)

yes and good to know!! thanks!

ron, have you baked anything yummy lately? Today? Or cooked something? You always have something going.
Dinner last night was crock pot Thai Stew. It was very tasty!

I did share a picture of a cheese cake my Youngest DD and I baked last week:

It is a raspberry sauce over cheese cake with an oreo crust. Last Sunday I baked sourdough bread too. This weekend will be some type of bread and a crazy brownie recipe:

Tom’s Brownies

pre heat oven to 350
2oz semi sweet chocolate bar
1/3 C baking cocoa
½ C plus 2tbl. Boiling water.
½ C plus 2 TBL. Vegetable oil
4 tbl melted butter
2 eggs plus 2 egg yolks
2 tsp vanilla
2 ½ C Sugar
1 ¾ C flour
1 tsp salt
6 oz chunked bitter chocolate

Shave semi‐sweet chocolate. Add cocoa powder to large bowl. Pour boiling water over cocoa and whisk.
Whisk after adding each: semi‐sweet chocolate, oil and butter, egg mixture, vanilla and sugar. Fold in
flour and salt. Mix in bitter chocolate.

Pour into parchment or nonstick aluminum lined 9x13 inch pan. Bake 30 minutes until tooth pick comes
out clean. Cool for an hour and then cut and serve.

Wow you all have been terrible busy!!!

Today I have a doc appointment, and then I am processing our meaties and extra roosters and hens, fun fun first time for a lot of birds to be done, but I am as ready as I will ever be.

Tracy,
Old eggs ARE a huge issue, see last comment about eggs. and set only fresh eggs, after day 23 toss the eggs
EGG Storage at warm temps like you do, is also a big NO NO. soooooo.....
an ice pack in a cooler daily switch out, to keep them at a better temp in your heat zone, remember turn in storage as well 3x day 45 degrees
date your eggs with a pencil when you collect them! This is a great help in hatching, I get confused and I need to write everything down, and this solved my problem!
Use humidity as a tool only to get the correct weight loss in the egg, by watching air cell size, ITS NOT A SET NUMBER
What is your room humidity there? if it is above 25% you probably don't need humidity in the bators unless they are old large air cell eggs or tiny bantam eggs
BUT still keep track of your air cell sizes, and if needed add a sponge and keep it moist daily. AGAIN humidity is used as a tool NOT A SET NUMBER
Make sure you understand still air temps vs forced air temps
remove all red plugs from the bators

@tracyjg Tracy, I TOTALLY honor your beliefs. HOWEVER, you have a HUGE issue with those eggs, and an even bigger one to come! Can I ask you this, you cannot eat the eggs and you cannot sell or give away the eggs. You will IN FACT have an OVER ABUNDANCE of eggs in this VENTURE you have chosen for your family. I HIGHLY suggest you think about processing the over abundance of eggs and feed them BACK to the LIFE BEING they came from, the chickens, this will feed them excellent protein help with your feed management AND help with your eggs issues. And if you cannot do this, think about some sort of special crop that would benefit from eggs specifically that can be grown in your area that can help feed you and your family OR the flock.

I so wish you the best of luck in this venture!! I think we all do! When is surgery sweetie?

Wouldn't that be catabolism feeding it to chicken. I thought it would cause them to eat there baby's. Only give them shells for calcium baked and crushed fine. We do these all ready. We already give empty egg shells to plants

The eggs you showed pictures of were not fertile eggs. There is not baby in there so it is not cannibalism.
