You need to do something with all those eggs. If you don't have a broody hen, and you don't have an available incubator; and you don't incubate those eggs in a timely manner, then they will never be a life. That's just the way it is. They are just rotting and going to waste. They don't remain viable indefinitely. There is a limit on how old an egg can be and still have a shot at hatching. Anything over a few weeks is too old. The genetic information contained within that egg will start to break down after about a week after it's laid. If you're setting eggs that have been kept at room temp for over a month, all you're doing is setting non viable eggs. Meanwhile, the eggs that should have gone in (the freshly laid ones), are now going to go to waste in storage. If you can't eat the eggs, and you can't sell the eggs, and you aren't incubating them before they deteriorate, you are wasting them. Feed them to your animals or something, at least. Let them become nourishment for life if there is no hope for life within that egg.

So my broodies hatched out 2 new Orpington chicks last night! One lavender & a small one that looks blue. The one that hatched Wednesday night is chocolate.

So my question is, when will they bring the chicks to eat & drink? I am a little worried about the chocolate one, since it's older. Will the mommies bring it to eat soon or should I maybe try and feed it?

Wouldn't the waste of the eggs be more against gods plan? Surely God isn't against feeding your family and friends the eggs, there is no life in the egg until either you or hen creats the right enviorment. And surely you can't believe that the sell of eggs will gain you riches, selling the eggs stops waste and helps to make the chickens self supporting, money from eggs goes right back to feed and coops. God put animals on this earth for us to eat!
Lastly until you figure out a better way to incubate all you are doing is destroying any potential for life, just because it's the best you can do all you have available to you doesn't mean you should do it anyway, that's cruel!!

Help?. I have a question.

I'm cleaning the new homemade incubator. I'm worried the LG is contaminated. I will move the eggs to the clean incubator. I'm getting it back up to temp then candling all remaining eggs 11/24 before I put them in. Does that sound like a good plan? Should I adjust it?

Also, I purchased 15 shipped eggs and 9 local eggs. 5/9 local eggs were clear. That doubles the cost of the remaining eggs. Should I take a picture of the clears to prove my point and contact the seller or accept this as normal or something in between? I have 7/15 shipped eggs remaining. 4 have dark shells so unless they ooze I don't know what is going on in them. This I knew would be a challenge, so I'm leaning toward accepting this as typical losses for shipped eggs. What do you think? Honesty please.

I'd put a small dish of food close to the broody.
