I have a request. Please keep this board as a discussion about how to hatch chickens and Halloween. I'm beginning to get uncomfortable with the religious discussion and am considering leaving the Hatch Along.
Does anyone have any advice on how to treat my remaining 7 eggs? Yes I'm down to 7 from 24.

What day are you on?

Help?. I have a question.

I'm cleaning the new homemade incubator. I'm worried the LG is contaminated. I will move the eggs to the clean incubator. I'm getting it back up to temp then candling all remaining eggs 11/24 before I put them in. Does that sound like a good plan? Should I adjust it?

Also, I purchased 15 shipped eggs and 9 local eggs. 5/9 local eggs were clear. That doubles the cost of the remaining eggs. Should I take a picture of the clears to prove my point and contact the seller or accept this as normal or something in between? I have 7/15 shipped eggs remaining. 4 have dark shells so unless they ooze I don't know what is going on in them. This I knew would be a challenge, so I'm leaning toward accepting this as typical losses for shipped eggs. What do you think? Honesty please.
I'm just catching up. Good that you are cleaning the bator. And, if I were you, I would do the photos of the clear eggs and let the person know that they were not viable. Some sellers will either just send you more eggs, or, have you pay for shipping, not the eggs. I always say, doesn't hurt to ask. :)

Yes, clean the incubator--I use lysol all purpose cleaner. You can also let it sit in the sun for an hour--kills a lot of germs that way.

We will read? But we our not allowed to speak we might have to leave the group.

tracy, this forum is on chickens. If you would like to discuss religious beliefs, you can google to find a forum with your religion. Then you can talk about anything with those that have your belief. This is what I was saying last night to you. We CAN'T talk religion here. It makes folks uncomfortable because we all have different beliefs... don't have the same beliefs as you. Nothing wrong with that, but, It can cause arguments if people were to start talking about what they believe, and what you believe. Please, try to google your religion and see if you can find a forum. You can stay here and talk about the eggs that are developing. Any questions about those would be more than welcomed. :)

I'm still wondering what happened to prize's eggs? Was going to candle last night after having a power outage. I think it was prize!

I use the half and half water and bleach. I use hot hot water to rinse first, then the cold for final rinse. Then I put the lid on, and turn the heat up! I let it stay hot for an hr.
Fun to hear how others clean. Anyone else? Share? :)
