2015 Peafowl Hatching Support Group - Eggs and Chicks!

Pics
Looks like you are having the big sticky chick syndrome. Time to check temp and humidity. If they are living to pip try higher temp.
Thanks, I will re-think after these 13 in the hatcher are done. Still have another 15 or so in the bator, so might be able to make some changes in time for them.

I have been just too busy with bee work.

A large commercial operation parked a few hundred hives nearby and we have been catching swarms like crazy making up for our winter losses.

I haven't taken many pics lately, but I really need too. I have low percentage Spaulding Purple BS chicks at four, three, two weeks old and some only days old. Same in IBBS over Cameo hens and BSWE over IBWE hens.

My IB Pied WE cock over the IBSP, Cameo SP, Cameo WE and Pied hens have not given me many eggs until lately, but I now have about eight little ones to show off. I promise to get you some pics soon.

On a sad note, the green trays for the Sportsman that needed trimmed to fit were not trimmed enough and they were hanging up on the racks when turning. It caused them to violently snap past the bracket and ruined quite a few eggs, not all, but too many just the same.
