2016 Gosling Hatch-a-long

For a minute I thought my one Sebastopol egg quit but it is still plugging away. It only has a week or so left and its air cell is pathetically small. I still want to get more goose eggs but last week my emu eggs were ready ; )

The air sac noticeably increases rapidly in the last 3 days before pipping.
Before those 3 days it can be quite small so don't give up!

I won't give up if it doesn't! I finally have some fertile duck eggs too so it won't have to wait too long for friends. I am going to try to get more eggs soon, I really want to hatch some curly feathered cuties.

The final 3 days you don't need to turn or wet the egg.
Would love to see the first gosling of 2016s hatch-a-long!

A few pictures, this is one of my trios for this year

Loki yearling goose (I hope) we lost her mom (Napoleon) last summer

Louis 4 year old gander. He's a lover not a fighter.

Marie 4 year old goose.

Hard to believe my flock is as old as it is.

Love those buff toulouse geese :) I think they are the largest of all goose breeds even bigger than the grey variety. I saw a video of a buff dewlap toulouse gander and it was the biggest goose I've ever seen.

Beautiful pictures. Love seeing your dewlaps. Look forward to hatching a few buff babies along with you.

Serv, buff dewlaps are big birds, but I have a few greys that dwarf my biggest buff, which is why it is important to mix greys with buffs in any buff dewlap breeding program. The infusion of the bigger greys will continue to make buffs larger.

Hello everyone. I have a few questions. I am going to be setting four Embden goose eggs tomorrow. I am unsure as what temp and humidity to set me incubator at. It is currently setting at 100.5 and 45% humidity. But I have read so many articles and it seems like they all tend to say a different temp and humidity. I didn't have very good luck with my welsh harlequins. Two out of sixteen hatched. Any and all advice is appreciated. Oh I am using a still air incubator if that makes a difference. Thanks.
