2017 Groundhog Day Hatch-a-long!

Tom is burbon red, two hens are burbon reds, one royal Palm, and one daughter of the palm and burbon that my Esther wouldn't let us eat. Getting about 3 eggs that I find a day from the four turkey hens.

My girls are starting back up and have been the past week. I have been steadily getting 16 eggs a day from 27 hens. Still slackers, but at least I'm finally getting some eggs!

My first poults of the year are due to hatch next week :) I can't wait! I need a new red tom so hopefully I get one from this group. I'll make me another snuggle bird :) (I love my turkeys lol)

We have 27 chickens too, 1 rooster and 26 hens. Our hens haven't slacked off once! We usually get anywhere from 18 to 24 eggs a day! Its crazy! And we are running out of cartons fast!

Sound like a beautiful flock! I've always wanted Turkeys, but I don't think that I could bring myself to eat them.

Lucky you! I'm only getting 1 egg a day (if I'm lucky) from my 6 hens and 1 cockerel.....
I am sorry about your slackers!

Let's say butchering turkeys is a big chore. They can really hurt you when they flop about. We set up killing cones using traffic cones. We cut off the tops and use the wide base to hold it on a wooden bracket.
