Her are pics of the turkeys promised. As you can clearly with the colour of some chicks, my Norfolk blacks are indeed not pure breeds but i still love them :')

Buff gosling in the broken egg hatched and my goodness is it the fattest gosling I've ever seen
It's brown brother is also huge!

The other buff gosling is still in the egg under a chicken. So it will be born by tomorrow if all goes good

Serv, love the pictures! I have always liked turkeys, but if given the choice, will always choose waterfowl first. Very happy your buff gosling hatched from broken egg. So adorable!

Had a close call yesterday with our new ducklings. Momma decided to take babies to our creek, which is running really hard right now. After a few minutes, I hear a baby calling and I knew they got swept downstream. So my husband and I raced down the creek, found them, scooped babies into a dog bowl (first thing we thought to grab), then escorted them back up to barn. Very relieved all five babies are ok. Needless to say, we penned them up for the night, but will let them out in a little bit. I expect it will only take a day or two before they are strong enough to swim against the current.

My 3 eggs are on day 22 and I'm starting to get anxious. I'm so excited to see if any hatch (and to try and figure out which breed they are if they do).

This has been a heck of a journey so far. Even had to sit out in a hot car with them one day because a wind storm knocked down some of the power line poles.

But....they're almost to their big day, and all of them are wiggly and active. Fingers crossed I get to see some cute babies soon.

The other buff gosling hatched this morning so now all the goslings of 2018 are hatched! Though 2 geese look like they want to lay eggs again after losing their baby to a magpie. Time will tell!

Silly ducks :')
You're lucky you and your husband were there on time! I hatched a random duckling 2 weeks ago since a friend gave me 2 eggs and i decided i wanted a duck and my goodness are they tiny when hatched! Now it's huge! They're so cute haha

I'm so excited! Haven't had geese in years I've missed them.

Magpies stole a gosling?? That's terrible!

You're in for a treat! Once you hear the first peep in the egg it will make your day :)

Yes the number one gosling predator for me is the hooded crow and magpies. They'll snatch a baby so fast and you won't even see it!

After 2 weeks magpies won't be a problem anymore since the goslings will be too big for them. But i never keep my goslings unprotected until they're atleast a month old.

I'm really sorry to hear that, sad to see the parents with nothing to show for all that brooding time.

Really making me consider the local crow population too. :hmm
