Same here, the older they get the worse they get. So far had a quite peaceful day a few bits of chasing but on the whole everyone just getting on with doing their own thing. Winds have died down which seems to have made a difference so maybe it's a mixture of several stress factors or maybe they are just turning into cranky old women lol
Mine had gotten better and now they are going in reverse. I know when they are outside and squabble the dogs stop it--from outside of the run. The dogs do not like when they cry. A few of the babies are quite bold, so the older ones may be meetingtrir match.
I do not mind little pecks, but when feathers are being pulled I draw the line. Geez, Prince doesn't even pull feathers when mating.
I also think that confidence level plays a role. Rose the EE is pretty confident and they start to mess with her and she moves out of theway, but doesn't cry like the other ones. The crying is making it worse. How do you teach a chicken confidence?
Today they were picking on Blanche. I pulled her out for about 15 minutes and just had her in my lap petting her--tgen she "roosted" on my arm
