I shared photos of my bantam chicks so now I’ll share some of my standard teenagers.
Here’s my buff Orpington whom I’ve named Buffy. When I’ve heard people describe Orpingtons and how friendly they are I realize now that I underestimated just how friendly.
And this is my favorite, my girl Shadow.
She’s one of two Barred Rocks I have and she loves me. She always comes to me and waits for me to pick her up and let her sit on my arm.
My second BR is pretty friendly and mellow too. Just not seeking me out like Shadow. I don’t have a name for her yet.
I’ve named my two EEs, Ginger and Mary Anne.
Ginger was the light chipmunk “blond” colored chick.
She’s feathering out lighter than Mary Anne but their juvenile feathers look sort of similar right now.
I figure they’ll look different as adults since they were so different as chicks.
Ginger: she has a beard and muffs and green legs.
Here she’s being photo bombed by one of my black sex links (BSL).
It was more difficult to get photos of Mary Anne. She is the dark chipmunk chick that was so terrified of me.
She’s still scared of me but not quite as bad. She has a brown body with much less red than Ginger. Her legs are much darker.
My two BSLs are the smallest and youngest of my LF chicks.
They have feathered out extremely slowly. To the point that I find it odd. I wonder if other BSL have similar issues.
They started sleeping in the big coop last night. And they were outside foraging in the yard all day today.
They’re doing really good.
