Look at this chick.
That’s a boy chick for sure. :barnie

I hope I can find him a good home.
He’s an Australorp.

I’m having a hard time finding names for some of the chicks.
I’ve named 5 out of the 12.

I have the two Australorp girls named.
Sumi- 5 weeks
Charlotte- 4 weeks (this bird is an absolute doll! No fear of me at all.)

One Speckled Sussex has been named Sweetie as she is super friendly like Charlotte.

One Easter Egger has been named Taka (hawk in Japanese)

And one Silver Penciled Rock has been named Silver (lol original I know. She’s the first one I named)

I won’t be naming the boy since I don’t want to get attached in case we have to put him in the freezer. And if he finds a home they can name him.

So I still have to name:
1 Silver Penciled Rock
1 EE
2 Partridge Rocks
2 SS

I’m open to suggestions but please don’t be offended if I go with something else.
I’m noticing I tend to prefer two syllables lol.

I need to get leg bands on them soon while I can still tell them apart.

This is a video that I did for my sister to show her how they use it (and it was before I thought about the vetrap)... The highest place for them to hang out is actually on the wall behind the camera, even with the top board you see on the wall, but in the mornings, they hang out on the roof of the nest box (on the left) waiting for me to open their door. :) And, no, I've never seen them use the swing and I finally took it down.
Awwww great video clip - your birds are gorgeous, love the colour - what breed are they? I like the look of your coop too - is this part of the old horse stall?

Yeah - aside of the usual tell tale signs of wattle development, the deep red of his wattle/comb he actually looks like a rooster - he is a cutie though - would appreciate you letting us know how you get on with rehoming him

I got four eggs today! So excited we have 4/6 laying!

@ChooksNQuilts I only had to name 10 and I couldn't even do that! It's so hard to pick out names. I read on here someone did a food theme for their chickens. I liked that idea. Maybe for my next batch. Can you share some pictures of the unnamed ones and maybe I could think of some suggestions.
I have this huge list of names on my phone and I’m just not feeling anything.

I’ll try to get photos tomorrow.
They move around a lot
I’m tried today but they’re not very good.
I was thinking of doing themes too.

I named Taka a Japanese word/name and Sumi too. I’m going to try to find one for the other EE.

My daughter named our birds after her favourite film/tv show characters - we have a Runner called Jughead and a female RIR named Pedro lol, if we do end up getting the two hens I want she wants to call one pigeon :S
