Thank you! This is her baby, apparently she laid a few but this is the only one which hatched and is her first. We realise it could be a Roo, I need to check the deeds of the bungalow to see if there is a ban on Cockerels, in the next estate from me there is a ban, and no one round here has a Roo but then again I only know of myself and one other person on our estate who have chickens. We have decided that if the chick is male we are going to give it a go (provided we are allowed to) I have taken in all you guys share about your experiences and I have learned so much from you all, I feel confident enough to give it a go. However if worst comes to the worst my friend said he'd take it back, I made him promise if we have to give it back he won't cull it and will re-home it, he has promised me and is true to his word -- so if a boy and we are permitted to have Roos here I'm gonna give it a go
