2019 may hatch a long!!!!!!

OH NOOOO! Orphelia died! :hit She drowned herself in a bath tub meant for the ducks, it had a solid ladder and everything, no reason why she couldn't get out. Not only was she very nice, she was also my only pure breed Buff Orpington. I had a dream two years ago to start breeding Orpington, but the first year I got 1 hen from 20 shipped eggs, last year I bought shipped eggs again, and got zero hens... This year I got one pullet from Orphelia, and was collecting eggs now. So the only thing left after her, and my pure breeding dream is that pullet and 5 eggs. I even pulled one egg out of the fridge. I need all the luck I can get, and hope for at least one more hen... :fl

This is it, six eggs, including the one that's been in the fridge for who knows how long.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
I don't think I would use the refrigerated egg. I tried that last year & had one of them burst. I got on some of the other eggs and the hen. It may have caused or contributed to the low hatch rate 2 out of12 hatched.
That said, I recently gave a dozen eggs to someone who kept them refrigerated for 3 days & then decided to put them in an incubator. She hatched 3 out of 12 of them.
I'm wishing you luck!

I'm so so sorry for your loss! I put a cinder block in their baby pool just to be safe, I'm not sure if that would help you for the future.
I have a few English Orpingtons myself and I absolutely love them! They're one of my favorite breeds and if I didn't love having multiple colors of eggs so much I would probably just have a big flock of Orpingtons!
I'm going on a mini road trip to pick up a bunch of hatching eggs next week, including some Mottled Orpington eggs! :love
I hope your hatch goes well! :fl

It's a bit late for me to join in on the fun but I'm going on a mini road trip with my friend next week to pick up hatching eggs! (Maybe I need to find a June hatch along!:D)
lol, I currently have an incubator filled with goose eggs right now and I'll be picking up Mottled Orpingtons, Silver Sebrights, Mallard Ducks, Whiting's True Blues, and a few Crested Cream Legbars! :wee
I just hatched these sweeties a few days ago! Blue/Black/Splash Marans and Crested Cream Legbars. :love:jumpy

Oh yeah! My broody White Leghorn (Yes I realize they aren't supposed to go broody but nobody told her, lol) hatched out some Speckled Sussex as well!

I candle at 7 days, and will remove it if (when) I see it's not developing. I'm sure it's not gonna work, but it's an opportunity missed if it does. I've heard about people buying regular eggs at the store and hatch from them, so anything's possible.

I'm very curious to hear how things go with your refrigerated egg! Keep us updated! :fl

I’m so very sorry for your loss. I did that with my favorite white rock, Madonna too! I only was able to get one of hers, a boy.

Make sure that one in the fridge sits out to room temp, but pop those in to the incubator and good luck!
