2019 Peafowl

Pics
So last year my gf and I got our first pair of peas, both IB. They were doing great until January. I was on 7 12s for a 4 week stretch of nights when he started getting a swollen eye sinus. She took care of treatment and he started getting better, until the other eye sinus swelled. At the time they were semi free ranged, fenced in but no netting over the top, and he decided to roost in a tree. Well a nasty snow storm rolled in and we never saw him again, just tracks on the barn roof. We assumed that with the -40 temps the following week and his illness that he most likely died. Fast forward 6 months later, our neighbors tell us their friend 2 miles over just had an IB male turn up recently on their block. I find it to hard to be a coincidence, especially that he just magically appeared.... 2 miles over. If I remember correctly he should have been coming 2 years old and have a smaller train. we can catch him this week

I talked to the guy that I got the eggs from and he said he had like a cameo purple.

That does not make sense, the bird is either Cameo OR Purple. The only way to be both is if the cock bird is IB visually and split to both but even then it is fairly rare. Being split to both is called 'crossover' and can produce both with the right hens. Hens can never be split to any sex linked color.

Ok. He said he had one chick last year that is like cameo and purple. Lol he said he doesn’t know or do much with the peacock genetics just likes them around. So I guess see what the little guy looks like.

The Peahen with the older chicks came up to the raspberry patch today and picked them for the chicks. They loved them, it was so cute watching them snatch from each other. I would've got a video if I had my phone but I just enjoyed the moment.
The buzzard was circling a lot today, what age would you guys/gals say they are safe.
I came across this image of the Peacock before he was blinded in his left eye.
This was 2015, I've no idea how old he is as he was here when we moved here along with two Peahens.
