@casportpony are the chicks with the mother?
Seeing the interactions they have with each other as well as their mother is adorable.
For both peahens being first time mothers they're doing a fantastic job.
Being a novice to this is having leg issues common. I've had 11 peachicks now and they are all fine. I should add I didn't interfere with any one them, they went and found a place to nest then just started showing up.

So Casportpony, You say you have hatched under chickens or ducks? Do you let them raise them? I'm Asking, because I have had a very weird season this year, all kind of crazy egg and nest swapping.
The short version is -I now have one peachick being raised by a chicken and another being raised by a first time momma peahen. The experienced veteran momma peahen has no chicks but may actually be the mother of the one the new momma stole. New Momma is probable the mother of the one the chicken has- since it appears to be purple or bronze?
Meanwhile, the chicken tries to no avail to teach her chick to scratch, but then thinks her baby is extremely gifted because it can fly. Roosting at night is getting awkward as you can see in the pic.
Any advice? Is this going to work letting the chicken raise the peachick? The day after it hatched, I tried putting it under my veteran peahen- who was okay with it- but the chicken was beside herself- and I broke down and gave her back. Not sure what, if anything I can do about it now- I guess I'm asking if there is anything I should be aware of that could come from this?
