I'm trying to avoid the Rural King at all cost! - Caught myself at the local feed store enjoying the little chicken and turkey chicks being lifted out of their boxes and set down into their breeders, peeping so cute… AAAARGH!Lik I said earlier, I managed to pass the ducklings at TSC today. Can't wait to see the pictures! What kind of Anconas will your get? Black, Chocolate, Blue, Silver, Lavender, Lilac or Tri-Color? Hope your ducks will look nicer than my Magpies, they're mostly black with a white bib and belly.@WannaBeHillBilly The lady hatching my Anconas has her own flock of them and also she gets eggs from WorthItFarms, which I think is where hers are from. I had been planning on getting ducklings from learycow until I found out about this lady about 20 miles up the freeway.
Don't be! The majority of the duckling deliveries will be just fine, these little rascals are survivors. And ordering via mail from a large hatchery has the advantage of receiving correctly sexed ducklings - a neighbor told me he bought ten "sexed" ducklings from TSC, two drakes and eight ducks and they turned out to be five drakes a five ducks - straight run…So nice when you can get them local. I’m a nervous wreck about mine coming USPS from MO.
I am taking straight run to begin with. If more than one drake, then aggression will depends on who stays and who doesn't.Can't wait to see the pictures! What kind of Anconas will your get?
Tried that! Did not even repel a raccoon…![]()
