Update from the weekend: Starting Saturday it feels more like early Summer here with temperatures well over 20°C (68F), the ducks yas well as their homons enjoyed the time in the sun. Fighting between the ducks has somewhat subsided, still the Runners keep to themselves, but they were watching the younglings grasing yesterday:

And some time later they were all sitting some kind of together in the shade, resting:

That's why Limpy lost it on Friday… - But she is getting better and better every day. She sat on her wooden eggs for the last month and no has started to molt brutally. I would be cranky in her situation too…

Mmmhmmm I have one going through a hard molt too and she is not herself either.

It will! This morning they enjoyed the meal-worms kind of together and i forgot my phone inside. One moment Nona and one of the Buff-Orpingtons realized that they were standing side by side, looked at each other in terrible dismay - and continued to eat…

Mmmhmmm I have one going through a hard molt too and she is not herself either.

I filled them bowls of water - i have to carry it out bucket by bucket, as both outside faucets are damaged by the frost - Katharina jumped in and five minutes later i had feather-soup. She has some bald spots on her chest.

lol. So funny. Makes me think about last week when my Muscovy drake had one of his girls in the ditch and Snoop my Runner drake came running down the hill like he was going to try and stop it. Once he got down he put on the brakes and just stood there like he came to his senses just in the nick of time. He better think twice about interfering lol

Broody ducks eggs will be hatching on Friday, there’s 5 eggs under her now, four of them are looking good. I’ve ordered two, day old aylesbury ducklings set to arrive on Saturday to slip under her Aswell.
