I foresee an issue with my chickens waterer freezing this winter so I'd like to get this waterer to put in the coop to keep at least one water source available at all times.

We have an area in our backyard that we have to reseed every couple years, it would be neat to reseed it with some of my chickens favorite snacks! This mix is mostly clover with a bit of alfalfa and flax. I've told my hubby if I could I would replace all our grass with clover with this I'll be a little bit closer to my dream yard!

Amazon sells several varieties of these panel heaters. When it's going to be below zero we will put one in the coop. We originally bought it for the brooder. What is interesting is that if you touch the surface of the heater it feels warm but not hot but if you put your hand 8 or 10 inch away from the heater you feel almost the same level of warmth. The girls do not crowd around it but they do seem to come in more often o those bitter days.
