We have an area in our backyard that we have to reseed every couple years, it would be neat to reseed it with some of my chickens favorite snacks! This mix is mostly clover with a bit of alfalfa and flax. I've told my hubby if I could I would replace all our grass with clover with this I'll be a little bit closer to my dream yard!

I got 1 of these to try, works great so now I need more for every section.
I use it to hold some veggies or the pressed Mealworm & Sunflower seed cakes, NOT fatty wild bird suet as that's not healthy for chickens.

I use pine shavings on the floor of the coop. Tractor Supply Company sells them at a good price. ALWAYS need more!!

Personally, I prefer the coarse flake, but yes. So much better than straw in the coop.

I used to use the coarse flakes, but since I use deep litter method (esp during winter), I find that the finer flakes break down better.
