Not yet. Only three laying right now. I have about a month before the others start. 9 hens 2 drakes and the 7 new babies.

If they start in winter at all! - I assume that i won't see any eggs from the Fall Ducklings until February/March next year. I have 16 ducks and get between 8-10 eggs a day, at the moment the trend is more towards the eight.

The only one that cares about eggs is the drake. No broody ducks here

So let the drake sit on the eggs!


On second thought: Better not! He would likely hatch only drakes!

Mr Club foot is not getting a shoe. His middle toe is deformed. When I try to straighten it out, it hurts. He seems to get around fine and have zoomies the way it is.

You are right! Why trying to fix something that doesn't bother the little guy.

A shoe would be painful as he screams when I try to straighten his toe. Its getting some better on its own as it is just now the middle toe and the rest of his webbie has straightened out.

No screaming ducklings please! If she/he can get around, that toe may straighten up by itself. Just not breeding stock…

This is one of the eleven Indian Runner ducklings and as of today they all look alike, so i cannot even tell which of the young ducks was that tired little duckling. And all Runners don't have names yet, only the two White Layer ducks have been named Fluffy and Flauschi because of their fluffy look.
