I was feeding the young ducks some duck crack a little while ago. Piper did not want anything to do with it. She was concentrating on an acorn. Can they swallow them without choking or are they too big to swallow ?

There is an Oak tree in my duck's yard, no clue if it is white or red oak, before ducks there were plenty of acorns around that tree in fall, now only a few. I have not seen a duck swallowing an acorn, but they must eat and digest them as i have not found any half digested acorns anywhere.

It is a Small World. Sandi was assisting at a open house today as she was suppose to with her Realtor company under COVID-19 rules in our state. An Asian lady came in to look at the house for her son. The listing agent handed her Sandi's card and explained that she was there to help her and her son. The lady looked at the card in a strange way and started saying "I know her, I know that name" Sandi was as surprised as the listing agent. The Asian lady said "she is the funny duck lady on YouTube" Sandi agreed to explain it later to the listing agent that yes she does post you tube videos about my ducks when they are babies. It would be nice if this lady does end up buying her son a house using Sandi as her agent.

That is a funny story! Yes the world has become a lot smaller since the internet. For example i can almost instantaneously exchange thoughts and pictures with people from Texas and Washington state while living in West Virginia now. I remember as a kid Telephone was the »information super-highway« and instead of Wikipedia we had to order books through the local library…

A really cute moment this afternoon: The ducklings were busy exploring their pasture while i was busy cleaning out their house, when suddenly one of those big metal birds from the National Guard flew straight over our heads…
Next thing i noticed were thirteen loudly peeping ducklings running towards me and huddling around my rubber boots, seeking protection! That was so cute! I sat down with them and they were loudly quaxing me about that dangerous bird in the sky, jumping into my lap! - And pooppainting on my HillBilly trousers…
Now they refuse to go inside of their huddle hut and lie in the breeze, despite the fact that the temperature is already down to 7°(46F):

what an amazing duck house! Love it!!!
