Hello and welcome to my chat thread 🐔👋
I’m making another one of these because the last one Went a bit silent and I was starting to talk to myself... Am I really that boring?? 😬 😂

Allow me to introduce myself.
I live in Ireland.
I have 30 chickens, 27 Brahmas, blue buff columbian, golden partridge, blue partridge and lemon Pyle are their colours, I could go through them all individually but I wouldn’t want to bore you..,1 RIR, 1 buff Orpington and 1 buff Orpington mix.
only had around 10 chickens at the beginning of last year but I became a bit of a Hatchaholic.. it was around 50 at one stage ...
The plan was to breed them but they ended up getting a respiratory illness so now I’ve decided to keep them as a closed flock. Which is kinda what I was going to do anyways because no one was buying the roosters and I just had so many.
15 ducks, the colours are magpie, Rouen, khaki and a few mixed. 10 Guineas, 2 cocker dogs, 2 rabbits 2 cats View attachment 2041209

My cottage garden.
the garden consists of plants that attract butterflies and bees such as butterfly bush/ buddleia , sedum, delphinium, Ligularia dentata, red and yellow broom, sunflowers, petunias, bleeding hearts, montbretia and a few others
that I forget the names of..

there are also around 30 roses in there and there’s a few trees such as blue spruce, blue cedar, holly and junipers.

I like to grow sunflowers every year because they are beautiful plants, they’re great for wildlife and they put a smile on everyone’s face.

Chicks are all growing up fast! their feathers are starting to grow now.
4 more are due to hatch in less than two weeks so I’m looking forward to that.

I’ve been spending a lot of time outside in the garden.
I’m planning on planting the rest of the sunflowers outside this week.
this is a little patch that I planted two weeks ago before the wind storm.

Absolutely beautiful! You've got some awesome talent there!

The babies are looking wonderful, and you're right growing up fast!!

They are so adorable!
What others do you have mixed in there?
I'm a big fan of brahmas mandatory in all flocks.... But I'm biased. :gig

Nice to meet you Rei!

Thank you! Let's see i have quite the mix :D
2-Blue Copper Marans
2-Black Copper Marans
1-Blue Cuckoo Marans
2-Easter Eggers
1-Queen Queen (Meyer speciality but can't tell it apart from the EEs)
1-Blue/Splash Laced Wyandotte (Her feathers are starting to come in so I'm curious what color she will be)
1-Speckled Sussex
1-Barnevelder (my wee one.. its pretty small compared to the others)
Then my 1 Buff Brahma 😃

I ordered all females so hopefully it will stay that way!! Im not apposed to a rooster as I would love to hatch my own some day. But we might have some annoyed neighbors with a rooster crowing 🐓 🤭

It was a big day outside for us... Lots of mowing and cleaning and hopefully we didn't over do it. :hmm

But here's a video of the babies... We have too many predators for them to play outside just yet... Big water trough helps give them room to play though

It was finally dry enough to clean the stalls, front one complete the second is done-ish, will need to go back over it again later but the heat was getting to us. To do the young ones' area we let them out to run around for awhile... But I got video of them before I shooed them out completely.

The girls are clingy, was looking for roo but ppl don't seem to be honest on temperament and it looks like I might have a light Brahma roo so I'm gonna wait. I had to put scratch out to keep the girls from following me. :th

This is Jerk and Face... My kids named them after their attitudes. They got relocked up when they went psycho... I'm seeing if I can't find a family near me want them.

Breakfast time means to literally get into it :gig I'm hoping my manhandling will keep them sweet.

What a fun mix! You'll love them! I have quite a mix too... Just means more fun!

I love watching them feather out! It's like a fun grabbag some times!

I think I have about 8 or 10 breeds right now plus my new babies that are from my own flock... It's so much fun incubating from your own! Be careful though, it's addictive!
