That's so fun! His feathers are very interesting at this stage!New addition to the flock. A young fledgling Wood Pigeon. Can't fly yet. Loves peas and tickles. Likes to also eat chicken food but made into a paste.
Found him/her (who knows at this age) in the chicken coop last night. The walls were too high for it to get out so I scooped it up and put it out again, only to find it had gone back in again. This morning I put him in a hanging basket. Been feeding him every hour or so with defrosted peas and chicken food paste. Parents have also been coming and feeding him. Parents are tamed so don't mind me touching him.
I've named him Percy.

Yes he still has the chick down on his adult plumage. Should fall off in the next few weeks. Definitely is very fun! That's so fun! His feathers are very interesting at this stage!![]()
They are so adorable...I’ve got 14 silkies due to hatch tomorrow!
These are from eggs I’ve bought in which I rarely do. I’m hoping for at least one nice bearded to add to my breeding flock ready for showing next year.
In the meantime, have some photos of PomPom’s chicks!
