Thank you for your help
don't bother. Everytime you enter a photo or text it and save. it throws you out and you have to start all over. I tries to post three times and gave up.Get out your cameras and scan those old build plans! This is a contest for article pages on the construction of DIY feeders, waterers, incubators, and brooders. Put together a great article with instructions, pictures, and an interesting build, and you could win an EcoGlow Safety 600 chick brooder from Brinsea! Check out their Facebook page HERE.
The new EcoGlow Safety 600 Chick Brooder is ideal to raise up to 20 newly hatched chicks or ducklings (10 to 12 older chicks depending on age and size) and is suitable for any waterfowl or game-bird chicks and for classroom hatches.
The new EcoGlow Safety Chick Brooders use a metal warming plate to even out hot and cold spots which occur with plastic heat plates and to improve heat radiation. The new flared skirt design retains more heat further reducing energy use.
Unlike other chick heating plates the Brinsea EcoGlow Brooders run at 12 volt from a mains transformer supplied—a much safer option than mains voltage and features a generous 10 feet power lead. Its 4 adjustable legs allow you to adjust the height according to the size of the chicks.
Key features:
- Safe 12 volt operation from a mains transformer supplied
- Extremely economical to run—uses only 12 watts
- Easy height adjustment for different chick sizes. One end of the panel may be set lower than the other
- No disturbing light—chicks are adjusted to a natural day/night cycle which improves weight gain and feather growth
- Suitable for up to 20 newly hatched chicks
- An indicator light confirms the brooder is connected
- Convenient 10 feet power lead
- Durable, easy to clean construction plus a clear plastic cover included
First Place EcoGlow Safety 600 Chick Brooder by Brinsea or a $75 Brinsea Store Gift Certificate Second Place $50 BYC Store Gift Certificate or a 1-year PFM ($60 value) for themselves or a friend. Third Place $30 BYC Store Gift Certificate or a 6-month PFM ($35 value) for themselves or a friend. Fourth Place $15 BYC Store Gift Certificate or a 3-month PFM ($20 value) for themselves or a friend.
If a large amount of submissions are entered, the number of prizes will be increased proportionally, so there will be plenty of opportunities to win!
Contest Details:
To enter the contest, you'll be creating an article in either Feeders & Waterers or Incubators & Brooders in the BYC Learning Center. Click the links above to be taken to a new article page where you can begin writing and uploading pictures. Once you are finished, reply to this thread with a link to your article!
Deadline: The deadline will be based on the number of submissions we receive and how quickly we get them. Usually we wait for at least 20–30 submissions. Once we get "enough," we'll give everyone at least a one-week notice before the contest ends so they can put final touches on their submissions.
Things to include in your page:
To increase your chances of winning the contest, make sure it has as many of the elements above in as much detail as possible! Here are some additional hints to help you win the contest:
- Start with a finished build picture at the top of your page.
- Have a write-up of how you built your feeder/waterer/incubator/brooder. Include any information you think would be helpful to other people who may want to build a similar design.
- If you have them, include the designs & plans you used to create your build, as well as a list of parts and their prices.
- Pictures of your build as it was being constructed.
- Finished pictures of your build.
- A list of things you want to change or add to your build.
- Additional information about what you learned, what you'd do differently the next time, and any other tips for potential builders.
IMPORTANT RULE: ALL pictures MUST be uploaded to BYC and not hosted on other sites like Photobucket, personal websites, etc.
- Follow the format of some of the existing feeder/waterer or brooder/incubator pages.
- The more details and pictures the better!
- Plans, plans, plans. Very few of these DIY designs have plans available. If you post plans (rough or detailed) of your build you'll get bonus points for sure!
- Pictures—we all love lots of big, beautiful, and helpful pictures!
- Remember, this is a contest for the most helpful feeder/waterer/incubator/brooder build page and not the best looking build.
NOTE: We want all types of builds. Small, big, simple, complex, wood, plastic, etc. Everyone has different budgets, time, and purposes; we want to capture them all!
I'm so sorry to hear about your difficulties! Are you running into this when you try to create your article? Do you have screenshots? Maybe we can help you troubleshoot.don't bother.
