Hello all,
It's a shame I have to make my first post a PSA. Please, anyone who uses a heat lamp in the winter. Triple check its completely secure and away from flammable materials.

I lost 9 Hens to a fire last night caused by a heat lamp that had fallen on the floor in fresh wood chips. Thankfully our roo and 2 hens made it outside.

I am so sorry!!!!! I had that happen to me a few months ago, although fortunately no one was hurt.

I agree, always check to make sure the lamps are secure.

So so so sorry for your losses RIP 6 hens, you will be missed...

Oh my gosh! I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Hard to lose feather babies. Glad you had a few that made it out. Will definitely rethink using a heat lamp.
