Does anyone know if hatcheries still send out shipping notices in email? I'm waiting in the ones for Hoovers, Welp and Dunlap but haven't gotten any yet.

That’s a lot!!Yes I know it's a lot. 2 of the hatcheries had minimums though I had to fulfill. And I have a friend taking around 15 in a few weeks too, so that will make it a few less mouths to feed
My understanding is that the dates listed are hatch dates, so I would assume any sort of shipping notice would come by the next day, giving them time to pack and make any substitutes due to hatch results.Does anyone know if hatcheries still send out shipping notices in email? Yeah, I know usually the schedule is hatching on Monday, packing on Tuesday and then arrival on Thursday and Friday. I'm mostly worried that Dunlap will arrive tomorrow if they shipped today since they're in a neighboring state. Already raking 2 days off campus for these guys, not sure I can do a 3rd in one week.My understanding is that the dates listed are hatch dates, so I would assume any sort of shipping notice would come by the next day, giving them time to pack and make any substitutes due to hatch results.
I'm so excited to start seeing everyone's spring chicks! I ordered from Meyer Hatchery this year, first time ordering from a hatchery and have to wait until April 26th for my hatch date though. I ordered 5 assorted rare breeds, 5 production pack day, 3 Easter Eggers, 1 Gold-laced Wyandotte, and 1 Delaware. I way over ordered (I'm only allowed 10 hens per city laws), but I cut shipping costs from $50 to $15 by ordering 15.
I'm not really a fan of Wyandottes honestly (well, I like the UK version with the long legs) but the color was so pretty. Even if they Were probably from bad BLR lines, I just needed some. Wish I had gone for St. Run though now. If I wanted males too, I needed to buy 5 and I didn't want to knowingly get 5 males plus a possible mess up pulletwise. Hoping my TSC is willing to order some for me when they bring in a shipmentI had 2 SLW about 10 years ago, wonderful hens. I have my fingers crossed for a blue-laced red in the rare breed mix, but since there are currently 54 colors/breeds on the possibilities list, I don't have too much hope, lol.
Good Luck!! Mc Murray probably my favorite hatchery!!Welp, this week is the first week of chicks being delivered. I've ordered from the following hatcheries with 3 seperate ship dates (darn limited supply):
IDEAL 3-10
Welp 3-4
Hoovers 3-4
Murray McMurray 4-5
Dunlap 3-4
Brooders are being set up, can only hope my brinsea heaters are actually working. Lots and lots of babies, mostly st. Run, so lots and lots of guessing and praying.
I'll post what exactly was ordered in a bit, have to pull records. We'll see how correct the orders are and if we get any extras, any substitutes, packing peanuts, and what our Murray McMurray free exotic is. So far I'm betting something with feathered legs and mom is betting a white leghorn or black australorp
They're okay in my experience. I'd rather have ordered just from Hoover's and IDEAL, but most of the breeds I wanted weren't avaliable at those two.Good Luck!! Mc Murray probably my favorite hatchery!!![]()
However I'll admit I'd rather their minimum than what I had to get from Dunlap and Welp. Took 55 babies to fill just those two minimum orders for like a total of 25 birds I needed from themThey're okay in my experience.
