2021 Chick Order

The freaking Naked Neck pullet got out again. 3 times. 1 from the naked neck pen, 2 from the 2021 pen.

So.

She is getting her wings clipped and she will be in the Cornish bantam pen just so she stays put because at this point it's that pen or a 2x2 cage because I cannot figure out where she is getting out from now

Starting my chick list for next year~ getting some new breeds and some I got this year. Anyone wanna do some guesses? Or suggestions (especially bantams)?

I really want a lemon cuckoo niedderheiner but they don’t sell just pullets that I’ve found. Also looking at brambanters. Have you hear anything about either? I don’t know much about bantams except the Mille fleur ones are gorgeous. Lol

McMurray sells the niedderheiners, I think all 3 options, but maybe just st run, can't remember.

Brambanters are okay looking, they just seem too similar to my spitzhauben to really be interesting. IDEAL has 2 different colors I believe. Supposedly nice broody birds

Niedderheiner are only straight run at McM.

Are the Spitzhauven cold hardy? They are cool too! What breeds are you leaning towards?

They seem decent. I have two hens I got the spring before last (this will be their second winter). Their crests help keep combs warm and they don't have giant wattles.

I'm mainly leaning towards birds that aren't common here (getting some blue egg layers next spring to make olive eggers and bring some 'exotic' breeds to Montana).

Still looking for modern game bantams and naked neck bantams.

Getting some Cochin bantams hopefully, as well as a frizzle black bantam male for sexlinks.

Going to get more sebrights (need a male), some more gold neck Duccles (need a better female) some polish (want a blue female and a better male)

*Might* have found modern game bantams. I found a site, but have to contact still and see if they're still breeding them.

I know better than to get bantam Cochin from McMurray

Is there a specific reason why? Just quality or something else? Ive got an order in for next year

They don't have feathered middle toes and have actual tails, not the the boblike ones they should
