Yeah. I've seriously considered cancelling my orders and just dealing with a partial refund and forfeiting a few hundred. I don't want to, but we'll see what the new year brings I guess

Nope! I'd love La Flèche, but no one here breeds them. The others are either not good with the climate here or I'm just not interested in

So my mother has started calling my little NN cockerel 'Xerox' since hes almost a carbon copy of his dad, Atlas.

We put him in with Alexis since she's been alone for almost a week after Rose passed away. She wasn't thrilled, but he was so focused on sunbathing under the heat lamp that she got used to him after a day or so. Thankfully he's just a big, gawky kid still so he's more concerned with eating and sunbathing than trying to breed (though I feel like he should be, since he's a June baby....)

Also thinking I'm going to switch out my cull mosaic for Zechariah, the mosaic backup I had been keeping. Zechariah is constantly causing bickering and I'm nervous he might move up to people. Plus he's just kinda narrow. I'm thinking the other is a bit wider, and I like his pattern a bit more

Also might look into trying the Bantam NNs again? Apparently I really have a lot if Bantam spaces left for males so if I can, I'd like to try

The frost was so heavy on my wires that it's started making wind breaks in some of my pens.

So far everyone's pretty good considering it's only like 5°F here (probably less, honestly)

Booth is going to lose his comb. It's a fact now. Big Boy on the other hand, doesn't have a single fleck and his comb and battles are far larger. The obvious difference is that he is inside 24/7 and Booth is in a pen with a shelter
