2021 guinea hatches

It’s so fun to read everyone’s progress so far! I’ve been so busy lately I haven’t come back to update on the hatch.
First round finished hatching out on Saturday.
Two pearls, three lavenders, and one pearl pied!

I have 17 I’ll be moving into the hatcher today for lock down. My keets have been pipping on lockdown day, so I’m moving it up a day. I’ll get a count then on how many will be due for the third round. And pop in my fourth round of eggs😁

I now have another that just hatched same thing the little one was stuck with leather white membrane. So had to make a safety hole then gently peel away the dried out leathery membrane . While I was doing the school run it finished the hatch itself . I only peel away the aircell area the rest they do themselves. This am I gave the other keet some tonic which seemed to help then it was left alone under the brooder while I went to work . What a busy day🐣🐣🎉🍾💫
Awwww!!! :love Congratulations on getting them out of their eggs! It sounds like they weren’t shrink wrapped, but the membranes had dried out too much for them to break them open? From your other post, it sounds like they are pretty worn out. What tonic are you giving? Nutridrench?

Congratulations!!! :celebrate Very cute little crew of keets there! Mine are on Day 25 and on lockdown. I pulled the turner on Day 21 but didn’t raise humidity until I saw them draw down, Day 24. Now I’m just waiting. And waiting. And…:pop:jumpy:fl

How exciting! The wait is so hard near the end!
I have a lot of other babies right now so I’m hoping they keep me distracted enough that I can stay away from checking the incubator every few minutes. 😆

Lavender = 2 recessive blue color genes plus at least one dominant full dotting gene. Both the father and the mother must have at least one recessive blue color gene and one of the parents must have at least one dominant full dotting gene.

I have one pair of lavender guineas that have stayed together. I’m guessing they are the parents of all three. The pearls I’m sure came from one of the other pairings. Rp/lav, pearl/rp, ect. So far I haven’t hatched any French/jumbo eggs. So these are all standard. Or standard mix from my one pair that’s a pearl male and a rp female.
I do see a pair of rp and my male white has been hanging out with a white female more often now. I’m hoping to see some rp and all white keets.
