2022 Chicks - Cackle Experience

Pics
I hatched out chicks last fall. I culled some of my roosters today. They had a nice life, with one bad day. I still have about 7? Roosters left. Before the cull I told them they were a good birds, they didn't go to waste. I kept roosters for beauty (blue feathered, clean legs, colored egg genes and personality). I will be interested in what roosters get sent. It would be nice to keep everyone. I do try and keep some.

As far as roosters go, I like to raise them up and let them become someone, before even giving them away down the road. You really don't have to worry about a rooster if you live in town till it crows. Until then enjoy him.

I have a cackle surprise box shipping out march 21st. I am glad to hear that your chicks got to you within the time frame. After hearing about the proposed Mail slow down, I became a little nervous about it. Missouri to Texas shouldn’t be too bad.
Yay I'm glad my experience can help alleviate your worries! I was scouring the forum for any hint of travel times and mail slow downs. We are getting a replacement bunch sent Wednesday the 9th so I'll be able report if the 48hrs is consistent at least. Hopefully your chicks arrive swiftly and in good health!

Our 7 barred rocks, hatched February 16, had their first trip outside today. they Looked so happy, it was tough to bring them back into the garage (it’s 75 & sunny here today)
They look like they are having fun! So adorable in their grow out phase 😍

Some lucky person got AC's. Luck beauty wise, but not a super egg layer wise.
AC?

They're ADORABLE! I've got fifteen chicks shipping from cackle April sixth.
Oooh what did you order? Even though I just got mine I'm still loving living vicariously through others. I can't have ALL the chickens.

No chick photos today so I'll substitute with my year old ladies enjoying the sunshine and freshly dug dirt. Irrigation wire line was recently installed and they have decided it's the best place for dust baths: fresh loose soil in direct sun that is double warmed by heat from the south-facing wall. Spoiled girls. Can't wait for the new newbies to get their first dust baths 😍

I'm in Iowa, and Cackle (in Missouri) is only a state away. But, apparently they were shipped TODAY (Monday) and won't arrive until THURSDAY! I am so confused. That seems like a long time in transit when Kansas City (where they are currently) is only 2.5 hours from where I'm at. That doesn't seem right.
Maybe it’s not. I bet you get them before that!
