2022 Chicks - Cackle Experience

Pics
I'm in Iowa, and Cackle (in Missouri) is only a state away. But, apparently they were shipped TODAY (Monday) and won't arrive until THURSDAY! I am so confused. That seems like a long time in transit when Kansas City (where they are currently) is only 2.5 hours from where I'm at. That doesn't seem right.
It sounds like the USPS is still adding a day to their estimated delivery date. You should get them Wednesday. Just keep tracking!

Agreed, you will probably have them Wednesday if not in the morning! My tracking said Friday after being shipped on a Monday. Even as of the morning of Wednesday they do had estimated delivery of Friday.... while being in a "held at post office for pickup" status 🤔

With how close they are, it would not surprise me if they and wind up at your post office at 3am. Sign up for text alerts if you aren't already for the fastest updates.

Group photos! Trying to figure out the best method for tracking these guys as they grow. Bumbling along 🐝

Kind of thinking Richard and Justice (teals) are gonna be roos while the pinks are pullets. Time will tell and one week in isn't enough. Sigh. Patience again.

One was an extra so I'm wondering if we got a cockerel as the extra or a pullet. One is larger and more alert/upright. I don't have my list offhand but we've got him flagged as potential. Names: Noodle, Helios, Sunny, and Phoebe.

My baby chicks are hatching/shipping on the 14th... I was so excited that I incubated some friends and have some babies hatching the same day. I can't wait! It will be exciting to see how the home grown babies develop compared to hatchery chicks, considering the stress and hustle of a multi-state (to VA) trip! I thought I would keep them separate for a few days until the Cackle babies have a chance to recover. Thoughts?
