2022 Chicks - Cackle Experience

Pics
I used the nesting material in the outdoor nesting box, and it looks so cute with eggs in the middle
. That's a great idea. We currently use a mix of pine shavings and straw. Do you know if your girls fluff it? We've got a camera in the coop so I've gotten to see the girls carefully selecting straw and making a nest shape. They like to make a nest while in the box sitting.

I love that nesting material. I've ordered nest pads made from it. It's called excelsior and it lasts a good long while before I have to change it out. https://www.amazon.com/MagJo-Excels...pd_rd_i=B076ZSJBWD&psc=1&ref_=pd_bap_d_rp_1_i
Thanks for the link, I'll have to look into it further!

If you have an Atwoods store near you they also sell them in a 10 pack of 13X13 for $19.99.
Unfortunately no Atwood's and I haven't seen it at either of our local feed stores.

Oh yay! It is awesome that they reshipped only 6, and they all arrived alive! Look so cute in that little nest! ❤️
Super cute 😍 I am quite impressed and pleased with Cackle. The only negative has been the cancellation fee and not being able to adjust an order. Which from a business perspective I totally understand. At my with we can't adjust orders either and it's an entirely different industry.

My 1st order of chicks has shipped. Yay!! I ended up having to place a second order since you can't add to an order.
When I placed my first order in November, the black tailed red marans were not available on my ship date during my spring break and I really wanted those dark chocolate eggs in my basket😍.

Yay I'm glad you were able to get the marans! We have an order for FBCM coming in late June from Alchemist Farms. Can't wait to see what our 2022 egg rainbow looks like with everyone laying.

Awesome! I ordered 5 of the dark brown egg layer female surplus package in my first order so I have a chance to get FBCM too I hope I get some barnvelders too. They have pretty feather lacing similar to your wyndotes. They said in their description that they tty to breed for the double lacing. So I will have some surprises too! Makes it feel even more like I'm a kid on Christmas morning.

Please share pics of the eggs when they are laying! I've looked several times at the Barnevelders, that double lacing is stunning 😍 Hubby loves the Wyandottes so those were for him this time though I also love their personalities. The Ameraucaunas, Welsummers, and FBCMs are the ones I'm super duper excited about. Can't wait to see their eggs!

Eeek! These chick pictures are making me want babies so bad😅
I’m happy to hear your experience with cackle has gone well.
I’m expecting my fourth order from them in June. I wish it wasn’t so far away, but we have ducks coming this time in addition to chicks. I’ve been very pleased with cackle. So far we’ve ordered chicks twice(this would make our third chick order), turkeys twice, guineas once, and now our first time ordering ducks.

Do they lable

What breed/s of ducks and chicks are you getting?
