2023/2024/2025 Question of the Day Archive & Suggestions

You are mistaken. Many insects do not sting. I have personally been bitten by paper wasps and big red ants. Mites and lice also bite as do many other insects.
Dragonflies, grasshoppers, crickets, and ladybugs give painful bites, as well. Their chompers are something else - no one could mistake being bitten by them for a sting!

Insects don't bite,,, they sting.

Like I answered above to clarify.
Not many peeps in this world, except for a few newborn humans have been stung by insects.
My definition of Bitten,,,,,,
The Jaws with teeth locking down on portion of your body.
Oh yes... Sharkies also count. Snapping turtles also fall in qualifying category.
If this makes to a question chosen, I have some stories about Muskies, and some other interesting things :old
Another definition and info from the www:
What insect can bite and sting?

The bite from fire ants and the sting from bees, wasps, and hornets are most often painful. Bites caused by mosquitoes, fleas, and mites are more likely to cause itching than pain. Insect and spider bites cause more deaths from venom reactions than bites from snakes.
