2023/2024/2025 Question of the Day Archive & Suggestions

I think I am going to make a new rule. If you don't reply to your question, we will skip future questions from you.

I thought the point was to generate ideas for interesting questions for people to answer. Does it really matter who does or does not answer, so long as some people are answering?

Don't make this into a mountain, folks. There's a difference between "I regularly contribute, even if it's a couple of days or weeks later" and "I have a habit of never answering my own questions". If you have to ask whether you missed any (key word there is any, meaning you've asked multiple), it means you care enough to be participating. Her frustration isn't aimed at you.

Some folks, on the other hand, just don't care.

I wowed it too. @casportpony I think it's awfully presumptious because it's not like you have an abundance of questions. You start banning people from asking and you cut down, quite a bit, on your options of questions

The majority of members are participating and submitting excellent questions.

Eh, I feel like I had a different notion of what this thread was intended for. It's difficult to come up with interesting questions for every day, so I assumed this thread was for gathering question ideas.
If someone comes up with great questions but never bothers to answer any of them at all, the rest of us still get the benefit of those questions!

I got the idea from a forum that does them a little differently. There, it appears that anyone can start the thread, and so far, I have not seen more than one posted for the same day.

I also haven't seen the same question asked twice.

The thread starter will ask & answer their question in post #1 of their thread.

So when we started these, I guess I assumed that when people asked a question, they would want to answer it. :idunno

This is a minor mini rant to vent my own small frustration about this:

I care enough to participate by answering to most of the questions or by at least acknowledging people's answers with a reaction; but living in a different timezone means that I normally come in at the backend of the daily threads and therefore get little to no reactions to my answers. I get the notion that "some folks, on the other hand, just don't care" and are not paying any attention to late answers, so I am starting to wonder why I should bother to answer them at all? ...especially on threads with my own questions!?

Minor mini rant over. Just feeling a little left out which may be a result of my own silly misunderstanding, as explained here:
