2023/2024/2025 Question of the Day Archive & Suggestions

Do you use a different collective noun when referring to your poultry to friends and/or family, other than the usual English words like chickens, ducks, geese, extra? For example, Australians also use the slang word 'chooks' when referring to chickens. It could be your own personal made up word, for instance: "The Patch Scratches"?

Is 'collective noun' the right terminology? ...'plural'? I'm struggling with my English here.
