2024's First Posting Battle!

Baked beans and canned baked beans like Bush's and B&M.

Typically, things that have chunks in it like strawberry yogurt is terrible to me. (I have seen yogurt turn into cottage cheese, which was disgusting.)

Why would you want to do that? Go to Walmart, buy some canned beans and brown bread, and throw it in the beans. If you like pickles (I don't) throw some in the beans with the cottage cheese and top it off by pouring some of the pickle juice over it all.
This sounds like pregnancy food cravings.

Usually put a little bit of ketchup, some yellow mustard (not dijon), and some brown sugar in with baked beans when I cook them. Something my Mom has always done, and they just don't taste right without it.
Try this.
Baked Lima Beans

2 lbs. dry lima beans
1 lb. bacon - chopped and fried
1 large diced onion sauteed in bacon
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 large bottle ketchup (36 oz.)
2 tbsp. yellow mustard
Dash Worcestershire

Soak lima beans over night in water. Cook the next day until nearly tender. Drain.

Saute the bacon and onion together, adding the onion once the bacon is lightly browned. Drain and add to lima beans.

Add the sugars, ketchup, Worcestershire and mustard to the beans.

Bake at 350° F for 1 1/2 hours.

Note: I cook the beans in a Slo Cooker or Crockpot. I also use the Slo Cooker or Crockpot for the final cooking rather than baking in an oven.

That sounds awesome.

I am far lazier. If I want baked beans, I get a can of Bush's. But I need to try this recipe.
When we were growing up, my mother would add catsup, mustard and brown sugar to canned baked beans.

In my opinion, the baked limas are so much better that I don't buy canned baked beans. Also baked beans have way too much sugar in them for a diabetic. It's been a long time since I made the baked limas but I did substitute Sucralose for the white sugar successfully which helped.
