I find that overcast days are better with mine. If it's too hot they find a shady spot or cool dirt patch to lay in and don't do much.Let hope you and I have better luck soon
It is a challenge to take a photo of chickens..who would thought? We are having overcast weather these last 2 days so far, no sun so I can not take any photo.
I got really good shots around 5-6 pm as the sun was setting and they were winding down for the day.
Edit: I should also add I shoot video and pull stills from that. Anytime I'd try to take pictures they'd either get spooked by something and run off or move their heads.
