Yes it is! I have one too, but I found a soaker hose barely turned on works better than the pool for mine. And I add blocks of ice to their water, too.

I work from home, so, no, I do not leave it on all day. I will turn it on when temps hit 90, but barely on, you do not see the spray come up. off after and hours and then maybe again a few hours later. And it is set up in the shade in the grass. And I am in Florida, sandy soil.

Nice, im in Plant City and we don't have grass in the coops. Wish we did but yes know the sand.
