Regardless, it's a terrible thing to come home to and I'm very sorry that it happened to you and yours.

Raccoon. They kill several birds at a time, and they like to eat heads and crops.

Dogs kill chickens for fun, they don't usually eat them.

I am betting raccoon too! We've been dealing with one lately that killed 5 of our girls in one afternoon/night then just snatched a silkie out of the pen on Tuesday. We've got a night camera that has several pictures of the culprit.

So sorry for your loss. It's devistating when the girls (or boys) get killed and I try not to think about how scared they were!

Yep my vote would be with coons too. Ive had them destroy whole flocks just like your describing.

After i lost my entire call duck flock that were penned in a pen that we had jokingly called Ft ducks cause it was so well fortified..we thought.. i set a humane trap w marshmellows every night for over 2 months and we caught and disposed of over 14 coons. Now we have livestock guardian dogs and i havent lost a bird to predators since then.
