Ok, I posted these all on my blog, since its easier to upload large qty's of pics there.

There are 76 ish pictures total... so be warned!

http://mangusnet.com/home/?q=node/60

I have numbered each chick (hopefully) for proper identification. Some are obvious as to sex, others are not.

I presume they are EE's, Barred Rocks, and White leghorns... granted, they may all be 'mutts' too.

Let the guessing begin!!

Great pictures.

I think #1 Ed=Edwina she/he looks like a girl to me.

Also, #6 looked like it could go either way.
#9, #19 and #21 all gave me the stink eye but # 21 also could go either way.

And #16 looks possible roo.

#17 has some great big ol' long legs on that thar fella'.

I think you have pretty accurately sexed them.

Thanks for sharing.

Where in W. NY are you? I grew up in Cheektowaga.

We are up in arms over Ed... showing signs of red waddles now.... and the comb is growing pretty good (although not as good as some others)

#21, has a tentative name of Penny... VERY friendly bird, likes to 'chortle' as you hold it, and pet its back.

Both Ed and Penny will come over for attention.... Granted, Ed is the one we had to help with the shell some.

Most of my deductions have been based off comb/waddle growth. These were all hatched within 24 hours of each other, and are 4.5 weeks old (will be 5 on Weds)

As for where in NY... I am east of Rochester...

how old are these chicks? I had 5 hatch and then just 2 days ago.. 2 more. I am starting to think that my Rooster is only capable of making rooster babies. This reminds me of my flock...some are obvious, and the rest are on the fence!

i cannot help as I am also trying to figure out how many roosters I have.

Not long actually... I had to move them out of their current area to clean anyway.... just set them down one at a time for the wife to take a pic as I went back for more.

They will be 5 weeks old tomorrow (4.5 weeks in the pics)

Took them to the farm today, to see what he thought.

My guesses are pretty much right on.

Striped black ones are roo's, solid black are hens. (BR - RIR cross I guess)

The obvious leghorns... Roos!

He said the brown ones... are a RIR Plymouth? rock cross?? Although 2 are EE's for sure, as they came from green Eggs

Ed... is a leghorn BR cross. (and prolly a roo)

As of right now, we went from 21, to 10 chicks..... and 3 of the remaining are prolly roo's
